The Firm

Over 45 years ago, Hollister & Brace founders, J. James Hollister, III and William A. Brace, built the firm based on the premise that mutual respect is the best way to create a powerful team, effective working environment and means to serving clients to the best of their ability.  Today, they are a firm of preeminent lawyers in the Santa Barbara community.

And meanwhile, the firm’s practice has expanded from one centered on the California Central Coast to a practice that extends to state and federal courts nationwide and represents clients around the world. The firm’s practice areas are diverse and include Business, Real Property, including Land Use, Transactions and Environmental Practice, Taxation, Oil, Gas and Minerals, Litigation, Class Actions, Estate Planning, and Family Practice.

With a group like theirs, it’s no surprise that members of the firm are also committed to serving their profession and our community. They can be found participating in continuing legal education programs sponsored by the state, local bar associations and other professional organizations. They’re also fulfilling leadership positions in the community, serving as officers, directors and trustees of various community organizations including, Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce, Trust for Historic Preservation, Santa Barbara Nautical Museum, Downtown Organization of Santa Barbara, Inc., Santa Barbara Foundation, Courthouse Legacy Foundation, and United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County.

What We Did & Why

The first website we designed and developed for Hollister & Brace was only two years after the founding of our own company, 16 years ago. Things were simpler then and we started with a basic informational website. We’ve had the pleasure of creating 2 additional new sites since then. The site continues to be a repository for firm information and an informational source for potential and current clients. Additionally, the site is now additionally used for disseminating information to clients of their class action lawsuits. It is also now housed in a WordPress content management system.
