Boston Logan Airport WayFinder is a visual, 3D online video interactive application that assists travelers on the ground with all their airport navigation needs. With partners such as Global Network, TSA Pre-check, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Mobile Passport, the site provides practical, applicable information for Arriving, Connecting, Ground Transportation, Parking and Driving. For instance, the best way to connect between terminals, how long will it take to make those connections, does the passenger have to clear Security again? Any question a passenger might ask is covered.
What We Did & Why
This was an almost purely programming project for Fat Eyes. We did not create the design but came on board after it had been almost completed by another developer who had failed to carry the project through to a successful end. This is not uncommon for us.
The original site was custom designed and custom programmed and sadly, there were many broken functions, mobile-friendly/responsive behaviors didn’t work, features that were counter-intuitive, and many elements outside of best-practices. Since being engaged we have continued to work closely with the client offering significant changes, re-programming, site support and maintenance. We retro-fitted the site using bootstrap.
Since the site is an important customer support system for Boston Logan International Airport, our availability for urgent requests is very important.
